Dr. Krishan Kumar Aggarwal
is a leading senior physician, life style interventional cardiologist,
mind body consultant and an able health communicator cum
trainer. He has over 850 international and national publications
to his credit and has also written chapters in foreign books.
Trained from the USA, he was the first cardiologist to have started
the Color Doppler Echocardiography Technique in North India
in 1987. As a communicator he was responsible for the first ever “Perfect
Health Mela” in 1993 and “Run for your Heart” in 1991 events
in India and on both the occasions Govt. of India released
national postal commemorative stamps. As a researcher he
was responsible to have started the clot dissolving streptokinase
therapy in patient with acute heart attack in the country

Dedicated Community Worker
Since his early medical school days at Sewagram,
he was motivated with the Gandhian thoughts.
In the first 10 days of joining the medical school he was made
to live in Sewagram Ashram with an exposure to spiritual networking.
Within three months, he was posted in a village and attached
to look after a few poor families for the next five years. Those
10 days with the villagers changed his perspective and motivated
him in dedicating his life to the economically weaker sections
of the society.
A Great
Organizer
He organizes regular events for creating health awareness.
One of the main and now a regular annual event is Perfect Health
Mela. In 1993, He organized the first ever Mela at Talkatora
Gardens with Delhi Administration. The Mela was declared the best
event in Asia by BBC. Ever since, the Mela is being organised yearly.
Ministry of Family Welfare and later the Ministry of Health and
Family Welfare Govt. of India adopted this module under the National
Health Policy and today “health mela” has become
an established mode of creating health awareness.

He is a prolific writer on community health subjects.
He is a frequent writer for book chapters,
papers, abstracts, newspaper columns and editorials. He has contributed
over 400 health articles in newspapers and magazines
and appearances in Radio & TV. He is one of the most quoted doctors
in the field of health (quoted over 12000 times). He has
organized over 1000 lectures, seminars and discussions. He is
Editor-in-Chief of the IJCP Group of Publications – with

meningococcal meningitis, leptospirosis, epidemic dropsy),
he has been the first one to organize conferences for the doctors
and release practical guidelines for the public. He has
to his credit the maximum number of press interactions and media
health advocacy programs (over 500).
A Keen Educator, Sensitizer and Trainer
He holds
the distinction of having organized the maximum number of World
confe ences on cardiology, medical CME programs
and health events. He has been training nursing students
for the last 15 years. He provided training on first
aid and CPR for all PCR vans personals in Delhi during Raja Vijay
Karan’s
tenure as police commissioner. He trained all
DTC drivers on First Aid for continuous four years under Dept.
of Transport. He also trained the master trainers from students
and school principals on subjects like HIV-AIDS, road safety, CPR,
disaster management under Delhi govt. Besides educating about heart
diseases, he has also been instrumental in propagating basic educational
programs on HIV- AIDS, Iodine Deficiency Disorders, Dengue,
malaria, Plague, SARS, Noise Pollution, Osteoporosis and Diabetes.
A Visionary with A Difference
He conceptualized disease specific camps on
PSA, TSH, Obesity and Osteoporosis. He has designed
advertisements for various Delhi Govt. campaigns (MCD, NDMC,
prohibition, Health, DSACS). He also came out with a new logo
of allopathy (red wheel with Rx sign) which Delhi Medical Association
has adopted.
Concern for The Weaker Sections
He created the concept of life
saving drug bank, pace maker bank and free health
check up camps. From 1990-96 he organised pace maker camps
with project Pacer International, a US based NGO, where 25 to 30
free pace makers were implanted annually. He also conceived the
idea of mega free Community health check up camps; On an average
he organizes 50 such camps in a year for the community. He has
organised a series of camps in Delhi, NOIDA, Greater NOIDA, Meerut,
Saharanpur, Baraut, Bulandshahar, Khurja, etc.
Redefining Health
He has been instrumental in redefining the definition of health.
Until now health was defined as a state of physical, mental,
social, and environmental well-being. He added spiritual and financial
health components.
Social Campaigner
On 6th july 1993, on the
untimely tragic death of his elder sister due to electrocution, he launched, “Shashi
Bala save a life campaign” to
prevent electrocution deaths during monsoon season.
On 2nd Dec. 94, he conceptualized the first ever
Tongathon for the Rotary District 3010
for creating Polio Awareness where 100 Tonga rally was by Mr.
Salman Khurshid and Mr. Bishan Singh
Bedi.
On 27th July 1997 he conceptualized the “First
Ever Free Streptokinase Drug Bank”.
100 such doses were donated in
the very first year.
He organized the
first ever inter dancing school competition
in the year 2000. That traditional
Indian dancing is the right mix of
yoga, chakkra stimulation, exercise
and meditation was the concept he promoted
by involving various dancers like Birju
Maharaj, Raja Radha Kausalya Reddy,
Geeta Chandran, Shobhna Narayan and
Nalini Kamalani, to create health awareness
about exercise, dancing and health.
On
20th Jan 2002 he conceptualized the first ever-Perfect Health
Durbar based on the lines of traditional Mughal
Durbar. All the top cardiologists
on the dais solved public queries on the
spot. Same year on 31st may he was
instrumental in sensitizing and making
Delhi cabinet pass a resolution that
none of the ministers will attend
a function where tobacco promotion was
directly or indirectly implicated.
All the ministers and the CM signed
the pledge, which was also released
as advertisements all over.
In 2004
he was appointed the state coordinator
for the Year of Scientific Awareness
under the department of science and
technology, Govt. of India. On 30th
May 2004 last rites of “Mr
and Mrs Tobacco” were performed at
the cremation ground as a part of an
IEC activity by him along with Delhi
Health Minister and Industry Minister.
This was the start of a new health
awareness module on the concept that
even effigies of the bad evils needs
to be burnt or cremated with full respect
and rituals. On 5th September 2004
he conceptualized the first ever get
together in RED called GLOW RED to
sensitize the public about the rising
problem of heart disease in women.
He has organised over 12 “Walks for
Health” and “one
Tempothon” latest
being the walk for knee on 10th
Oct. 2004 at Rajpath involving patients
with knee replacement and walk for
an anemia free Delhi at ITO on 1st
July 2005.
On 5th June 2005, he designed
module for creating awareness about
healthy environment by organizing
a series of green get-togethers (people
wearing green dress).
He has designed
many health game shows like health
tambola, health tambola quiz, snakes
and ladders game, dart, ludo game,
kaun banega healthy crorepati. He
also conceptualized health informative playing
cards on subjects ‘Say
No to Alcohol’, ‘Metabolic
Syndrome’, ‘Living Health Life’, ‘HIV-AIDS’, ‘Blood
Safety’, ‘Dental
Care’,
Delhi Traffic Police, and NDMC
Messages. In this module all
52 cards carry different preventive
messages on a particular aspect
of health. He also designed a
miniature book on “Dil Ki Baatein” on
the same lines. He conceptualized
the concepts of health break
(break ke baad); health awareness using
the kites with health messages;
health awareness through competitions
(school, college, dance schools,
RWA and inter organizations)
and health infotainment modules.
During
the Kargil war, a delegation
from Heart Care Foundation, led by him
called on to the Prime Minister
of India, and donated medicines
worth lacs for the Kargil
victims. Also during the Gujarat earthquake,
he along with Maheshwari
Club sent a team of doctors at the affected
site. In the field of schools
health awareness he has been lecturing
on an average 25 schools
on an annual basis and is conducting
interactive workshops, first
aid trainings and quiz sessions.

He conceptualized
the idea of involving politicians,
bureaucrats and celebrities in dis persing health
messages to the community utilizing
the principle ‘Hit
the Iron When It is Hot’ and ‘Involving
People Who Count’.

to Heart
Care Foundation
of India
As the founder Trustee, he
is the man behind the activities
of Heart Care Foundation of India,
a National Charitable Trust, known for providing many
firsts to the country viz conceptualizing
and establishing innovative health
awareness modules. He conceptualized
and organized the first ever-public
conference on heart care in September
1986, held at Siri Fort auditorium.
He also organized the first ever
Perfect Health Parade, on 7th April
2001; from Vijay Chowk to Lal Qila
on the lines of 26th January parade.
Flagged off by the Delhi Chief
Minister and attended by WHO Representative
to India the parade as a concept
now has become an annual symbol
of health awareness.

Gold Medalist through out;
He topped Nagpur University in
1st and 2nd MBBS and also
topped amongst the male candidates
in the final MBBS. He also topped
Nagpur University in the aggregate
of all the MBBS marks. He received
two university gold medals in final
MBBS. During his MBBS at MGIMS
College he topped in all the three
academic sessions, got distinctions
in physiology, ophthalmology and
forensic medicine. He had the distinction

(four Gold Medals, nine Silver
